Tryouts for the 2010-2011 season will be held the week of Feb. 22 (prior to rink close date)

Girls (10 and under) tryouts on Saturday Feb. 20 @ 10am

Mite (2002 or later) tryouts Monday and Wednesday Feb. 22/24 @ 6pm

Squirt (2000-2001) tryouts Monday and Wednesday Feb. 22/24 @ 7pm

PW (1998-1999) tryouts Tuesday and Thursday Feb. 23/25 @ 6pm

Bantam (1996-1997) tryouts Tuesday and Thursday Feb. 23/25 @ 7pm

$50 tryout fee, Birth Certificate required if you have not played on a team for SYHA previously

Mites:  5:30pm-6:30pm

Squirts:  6:30pm-7:30pm

 

Tuesday 2/9

Peewees:  5:30pm-6:30pm

Bantams:  6:30pm-7:30pm

Join players from Somerville Youth Hockey at the BU Women's game on Feb. 13 @ Walter Brown Arena @ 2pm.
Youth admission is free. Post Game open skate - bring your skates.

6th Annual Guns and Hoses - Sunday Feb. 27 2010 @ 6pm Somerville Rink, after party at Holiday Inn, Somerville

Somerville Youth Hockey will be participating in the Spring Classic Tournament in Hooksett NH. We will send one team at each level representing Somerville Youth Hockey

Our Mite B team will be playing at the Bruins Alumni fundraiser for a charity organization in Melrose on Jan. 31 @ 4pm at Stoneham Rink. Tickets are $10 adult, $5 children. Please plan to attend and support the team.

What should Somerville Youth Hockey do to celebrate Hockey Weekend Across America?

Hockey Weekend Across America will be celebrated Jan. 29-31 across the nation. While USA Hockey leads the initiative, it will take the effort of all hockey entities, administrators and fans across the country to put programs in place to make the event a true success. Together, we not only want to celebrate our great game and those involved in the sport at all levels, but also strive to expose hockey to new audiences.

"WHY HOCKEY ROCKS" VIDEO CONTEST

Beginning on Monday, Dec. 7, fans can visit HockeyWeekendAcrossAmerica.com and begin submitting one-minute videos describing why hockey is the greatest sport in the world. These videos will be voted on by fans beginning in January, and 16 finalists will be awarded vouchers good for $300 worth of Reebok Hockey merchandise.

Following a tournament-style pairing process, the winning contest entry will be announced on Jan. 31 and will net its maker a total of $2,500 in Reebok Hockey merchandise. Those voting will also have a shot at winning $300 worth of Reebok Hockey merchandise.
